I hope we remember the saying, ‘You get what you pay for’
This is true for anything we buy. So T-shirts are no exception.
Depending on what we want to do with the shirts, we can decide on what we want to buy and how much we want to pay for it.
Beside looking at the thickness and quality of the shirts(material, fit, sewing etc) one more thing to check is the whiteness of the shirts.
Whiteness of the shirts can really make the difference. However, it is very difficult to check it. Some time the color would look different in day light vs. indoor light. Most of the shirts look white, if you do not have another white shirts put next to it. It costs manufacturers more effort and money to bring whiteness out. So a proper white color shirt would cost slightly higher.
There are lots available in the market place. But not all have the whiteness and brightness. Unless if you put the shirts side by side, you may not be able to see the whiteness difference between shirts. LUX-T and SAAD has succeeded in bringing the whiteness most of us like. Other brands have some touch of yellow, grey, light blue. But that does not matter. It all depends on what shade of white you like. Generally the cheaper brands will have a touch of yellow. Some printers like a touch of grey or light blue. These shades make shirts brighter outdoor in sunny weather. The prints come out nice.
So for cheaper white t shirt, one can not beat US manufacturers. These shirts are made not too far from US, imported under NAFTA without import duty, made with lower labor cost and sold quite cheap in US. Other overseas manufacturers will have hard time competing with their prices. However, you may have to live with a touch of yellow.
